United Cultery Corp. & Camillus

Post by Ratchet »

There has been interesting discussion on previous topics on knives made in the USA, Europe & overseas...., anyone read any articles recently about United Cutlery Corp in Tennessee problems..., I have a Rigid folder I picked up recently... beautiful knife! I'd hate to see this company fold,

And Camillus Cutlery, anyone have any updates on the company?

any comments? When companies like these start having financial problems or go out of business, does this make their product worth more in the marketplace?

Yes it does in my opion. I look at Schrade this way. Do to the fact they are not made like that now. I fell if you have or buy a well made U.S.A. made knife and they stop makening them too. Like Cold Steel now stopped maken some paterns. This raises the prices up.

Camillus is not completely down and out at this time. But yes, some of their models are getting rare and prices going up on them. Like the W49 Bowie. And the more desirable Beckers.
