Russell Barlow Question

Post by just bob »

This is on ebay now and is item # 220793142061. I am not posting this as a certain counterfeit, but wonder does anyone know for certain the details on the tang stamps of the Russell? I have been told that stamps of this kind came from regular pocket knives and were never used on orignal barlows. Also the long pull raises some questions. If there were different tang stamps used, what years were they used. I have seen the 1884 Russell sales catalog and all of the barlows in it have the straight line RUSSELL tang stamp. There are other pocket knives in it with this kind of tang stamp. It's time for an expert to step up and provide some information.
