Wharncliffe Blade?

Hi all... I have a New York Knife Co. wharncliffe pen that is a wharncliffe pattern but I am not sure about the blade.Could this be a re-shaped ? Looks too wide for a sheep-foot and too short for a wharncliffe.Has anyone seen anything similar in a New York blade?

Slim, from the shape of the frame, that looks like a Wharncliffe Whittler. The way the nail nick is slanted in the blade says to me that's an original, not modified, blade. I'm certainly no expert by a long shot so that's a novice opinion. What ever the experienced folks here decide, it's a great knife and you're lucky to have it.

The blade matches the frame. It is possible someone reshaped the blade a little bit after the tip broke off but I think it was always a Wharncliffe.

Thanks Jerry D and Iron Hoarder for the responce. looked right to me also, just wasn't sure about the lenght of the blade.The knife had been cleaned before but was smoke damaged in a house fire. I tried to clean it up with 600 grit paper as you can see in the pics. Thanks to some good folks at AAPK I have been able to polish it up with 3-M polishing paper 1200 thru 8000. I have also come to appreciate blade patina however old knives are often times heavily cleaned by knife dealers as I'm sure you guys know. Thanks again guys.

Paul,they're almost twins. Mine seems to have a steeper angle at the tip.It could be New York just made it that way. Thanks for showing that Southington though! BEAUTIFUL OLD WHARNCLIFFE!!!!!

Two very nice knives,,I have a couple with that type of blade myself. Kind of a short, wide wharney.
