Johnny, another great looking knife. Did Schrade make those on contract for Buck? I don't know that much about the early history of the Buck folders, but seem to remember they broke into the market with contract knives.

Thanks Paul, I didn’t know that. It is always good to get new information.
Thanks for the link too. I like the bone handled Uticas at Knife Center.
Maybe Utica will pick up a lot of business now that Camillus is closed.
They could certainly do an adequate job of producing quality work knives on par with those produced by Camillus, IMO.

Hey Trail, heres what I think I know.
I know Schrade made the 301s for Buck, but when they stopped their contract I don't know. This is an "88 Buck, so I think it's Buck factory knife.
I just know that it's a tank of a knife, and a great carry.

Mine was a Knife Center based assumption also.orvet wrote:I am not disputing that Utica made those, but I am curious as to the source of that info, just for my own knowledge.
Those look very much like the Camillus rope knife. I know Camillus made the same pattern. Camillus also made the TL-29s for Proto. I do have S-cards from Camillus on the production of Klein electrician knives as well as those made for Proto.
More knife mysteries.............I love it!

From what I understood this one is from 1968, to 1970.
