Thats what I think. Rare old cabinet from a well known maker in Robeson and at least a few of those 18 razors quite rare and valuable.

The cabinet itself is a fine piece of work.

Funny thing is none of the razors were Robeson`s :o

Maybe it was the same guy who wanted to buy Charlie`s display cabinets at the last knife show ::nod:: He offered some pretty big money for them

Boy I must be way off in my values of razors because I see nothing in that group that would make me think the whole package was worth that money.

One of the razors he says is Decomposing

Nothing "Rare" in the way of razors in that lot, some nice ones but not rare.

So 18 razors X $50 each average is $900

Someone thinks the case is worth $1600.00 ::nod::

It`s only money Mike

Yes and it's not my money, I hope display cases are on the upswing because I have a few rare ones and so I am glad but still perplexed ::dang:: ::dang:: ::dang::

I haven't been on Ebay much this week. I certainly missed that whole auction.

The last Robeson display case like that that sold on Ebay brought about $450.00, if I remember correctly and that was only about two years ago. Photo below. I don't think it's as nice as this latest one.

I cannot speak to the value of the razors.

The case is nice and interestingly constructed, but it's not worth two thousand dollars.

Sometimes I can spot a known buyer on Ebay by their Feedback rating. I don't know the guy that bought that case and contents.

Personally, I would love to own it. I thought the same about the previous example that sold on Ebay. But, I am not really a razor collector, not to that monetary extent anyway.

I certainly could fill it with some prime Robeson razors, though. ::tu::
