Can someone tell me more about this knife from Iraq?
I got this knife off a serviceman from Iraq. He told me it was very rare, used to decapitate people slowly, and that the handle inserts were ivory or pearl. It looks like it could be shell, and I highly doubt it was used to decapitate. I'm not sure if it is a souvenir or really a rare knife. ANy insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

it's a khanjar, it's not rare, and currently made in many Arabians countries, I can't say if your is rare or not
and it's not a military knife but a traditional knife

Has anyone else seen one like this or have a clue as to about how much it is worth?

Inserts appear to be MOP, from what I can see. Love that decap line of crap the previous owner gave you.
The beatings will continue until morale has improved...

I laughed at the guy when he told me that line too. I said my butter knives at home were sharper, and he said they dulled them on purpose to make it more painful lol.

It was worth to you exactly what you paid for it at the time you bought it.
Finding someone else willing to pay what you thought it was worth may be a bit more difficult.

lol, thanks. I bought it as part of a big lot the guy was unloading. I made my money back with a couple of the items already, so anything I sell it for is profit. Maybe I should just keep it for show and tell ... who else has an Iraqui dulled decapitation knife?
