WTB: Queen Mountain Man or similar

Post by coffeecup »

I'm looking for a particular type of knife, not a particular model: the Schrade 6ot I've been pocket-carrying is too darn bulky. The Queen Mountain Man would work fine after some blade work, but there have to be others out there that might work too!

For other knives, the characteristics I'm looking for are:
-thong hole or bail for lanyard
-overall (closed) length of 4.25"-4.5"
-single blade
-blade steel can be almost anything except generic stainless (typically 420)
-while I have a preference for natural handle materials, delrin etc would be fine--I want this for a work knife

Suggestions and offers would be greatly appreciated.

Quality should not be an accident. So what is the explanation for some of the knives we've seen in the past few years? (from A Knifebuyer's Manifesto)

The #72 pattern Great Eastern would meet the bill,except,they are only 3 3/4 inch's long ::shrug::
The #23 pattern, is 4 1/2 inches,but no lanyard hole ::shrug:: and it would be ""bulky"" also???
Both have 1095 carbon steel,and are very well made USA knives ::tu::
the Schatt & Morgan,made by Queen,has 420C steel,I beleive???? and the Queen Mountain Man,has D2 steel???good luck,Monk ::tu::
