New-to-me Canoe

The Queen Cutlery Company manufactured knives in Titusville Pennsylvania for 96 years. The company opened its only factory there in 1919 and commenced to make some of the best US crafted cutlery you will find. Unfortunately, the Titusville manufacturing plant closed down in 2018.

New-to-me Canoe

Post by gruntmedik »

Found this at a store I haven't been to in awhile. Considering all the rain we've been getting, I thought it appropriate to bring it home with me. Can anyone tell me about it?

that was the standard canoe for queen from the mid 70s up until the late 80s or early 90s, i believe.
the handles are usually a stag-textured delrin like yours.
they also made a "rawhide" version with wood handles.
fairly common.
since i collected nothing but queen canoes for a while, i had "queen canoe" saved as an ebay search.
one of these would pop up about once a month.

justold's csb canoe represents the newer model.
notice the longer bolsters and thicker blades.
i believe they switched to this version some time in the late 80s or early 90s.

The chart says that tang stamp was used 1973-1975.

Hello mito0; Are you saying my Queen CBS Conoe 64 CARVED Bone STAG 2005 was a 1980 to 1990 knife and not made in 2005?

nope.

in other words, they began making the "new" canoe around the late 80s to early 90s, and it's the same design they use today.
