A buddy of mine bought this back from south of the border...8" blade and I think that's brass wire wound around the tang.
Have no idea what kind of wood the handle is...blade is thin...like .065 thick and I'm thinking it a forged knife...?
I'm guessing Ojeda is the makers name...a pretty nice knife and sheath...anyone ever heard of him...?

Only what I have just gleened off the internet. I believe your buddy got a nice knife. Google Ojeda knife. Many generations of all sorts of cutlery.

Thank's Gunsmoke, I never thought of doing a google search...quite a bit of knife making history in that family.
I'm thinking now the handles are cocobolo.
