Hello everybody!! I am a 1yr freshman in the fine world of knife collecting. Like most it started with trying to replace a lost schrade and finding out what a fine piece of crapsmanship(did I misspell that) the factory sent me. The rest is probably similar to your own stories, once you have one, you look for two, then three, well you all know the story. My main interest is in Schrade and its history, but I have a bunch of Case, Remington, Boker, Western, S&W, Robeson, and a whole bunch I have to identify yet. Look forward to doing it with the help and vast knowledge and expertise I have allready seen from members on this site in the last few days. A pleasure to be here!!
A little about me for ya, married to a great (and understanding) woman, love to do all things outdoors, am a licensed Montana hunting guide, mainly guide bighorn and mountain goat hunts now. main job is industrial supplies for mines, power plants etc. Have a twelve year old daughter (who drew a mountain goat tag her first year!! and filled it!!!toughest hunt I've taken anybody on yet too..forest fires, snow storms etc..!) who thinks knives are cool to. Have a small problem with dogs(seem to collect them like knives) mainly lion hounds, a few bull mastiffs, a lab...well you get the point. Look forward to your company!

Grizzly_Dog ; Welcome to AAPK.
From the things that you wrote so far it looks to me that you will just fit in here well.
Yes I fell to replace a Schrade the best thing any one can do is just get 2 Schrades or 3 or 4 ect. For the money they still are hard to beat. Leave the mint
ones for collectors and pick up lots of missed named mint ones to use. Please make sure that you see the U.S.A. on them too.
Now understanding woman that I have not found in my life. But the one I have I will keep cuz she trained me now for 30+ years. Roof Roof and I am waggeling my tail too.

Hello
I'm out of Billings(mainly for work, getting to big for me to stay much longer!), but our family has a chunk of land and a small island by Livingston, so I spend alot of time around there. Looks like we finally have a winter to weather! I've never chased the kitty's up there but you do have some monster whitetails up there I've scoped out. To bad about your sheep, when the populations get to big they tend to get sick every time. I'm waiting for the sheep out of plains to die off, way to many right now. Look forward to chatting with you more.

Hello
Sunburst:
Glad to be here with all of the AAPK members, its been a blast and a hell of a site so far!!
I'm supposed to go down to Florida sometime this year, a freind of mine lives down there and I'm going to try to stick an alligator with my bow. I'll keep you posted as it unfolds. I know he had to put in for a drawing in March and the tags not a for sure thing. I went down to the Keys a few years back fishing and that was a great time, I look forward to going back.
Just got back from my first hog hunt, what a blast!! Maybe we'll do a little swapin, our turkeys are pretty stupid up here, but I hear yours can be a real fun hunt, and I'm always up for a hog hunt now!! Hogs are the only thing we are missing up here, and gators of course(you can keep the later down there, I like swimming without things trying to eat me)
Look forward to talking to you more.
