Im blown away , (paulsvintage)

over a week ago paul sent me a email saying he would like to send me A book to help me on my way with pocket knife collecting, i have been so excited about getting a book as only got one basic 36 page book and love to read up on stuff and take to work so i can even read at work, well today i had this BIG box turn up at my door, now i knew it was from the U.S.A but how big you can imagine how i felt as i went for a knife to open it, oh used a case mini trapper well how many books magazines ,news papers and then after the intial shock of all of this i came across a bubbled wrapped package , well inside was a soft red felt holder, what slipped out well i still havnt taken in it yet as other than the casexx and spyderco im still looking at the other2 as new to me, i cant thank paul enough as ive had so much help on this forum getting me going and hey ive now way more U.S made knives than anything else i love them all, plus all patterns i dont have yet again big thanks to paul and everyone who has helped me out, i think my new box is going to be too small soon

im still dancing around the kitchen i think my youngest thinks ive gone nuts ive just been fliking through some of the books and there great, hours of reading and learning for me

well as im on a sleeping night tonight at work (means i work from 8pm-11, then up at 6am )ill be taking the knife collectors guid as the part about all the different patterns is great plus need this info , also knife world news paper, there is some very interesting articals ive seen, roll on 11pm

The kindness on this forum blows me away, its had a great reaction on me as been very unwell recently and although on around 13 tablets a day this made me feel so good today , i text my wife and told her how well i feel today and in the morning after work i want to go on a small bicycle ride (im a obbsessed cyclist of 30 years) i havny been on my bike for months properly so ill be riding to work tonight and off on a little ride through my local country side in the morning i cant wait, its like AAPK therapy

ok ive done my bit of investigation work , and how right is this, the hammer brand AKA imperial ? is a large texas toothpick im not sure of age yet ? ive seen this pattern many times on the net and like the shape , this is a big knife and i love the long pull as well, im not sure of handle material yet, well off to work soon, hope you all have a good evening i cant wait to have a read later tonight

I cant agree more gino, there is cetainly many kind folk on this forum, it just pushes me along to want to learn more about these knives, and hopefully in time i can add more to the forum with what i learn , AAPK is certainly a very cool place to be,

yes mike you are spoiling me and im the happiest chap in poole at the moment, i had a great night at work as in such a good mood ,i took the Blade magazine abd the knife world paper, i read all about the DOLLAR KNIFE CORP and was very interesting, plus saw knives and makes ive never seen or heard of before I left work at 8am still very happy and went for a hour bike ride through the heath, i took some pics on route, plus took a few new companions .

cheers gary, i use a olympus sp-700, it means a lot to me because it was my late aunty jeans who passed away 2 years ago of cancer, she is the person who got me collecting stuff and helped me out alot back in the 80's with my knife collecing, she is very missed, but i got her old camera as mine got drink poured on it by my oldest this is a better camera though and takes great pics, i always use natural light when possible even if its through a window, settings wise auto or macro with no flash, sdeady hand and thats about it mate,

Very nice photos Paul. Do you live near the ocean? It looks like you're near a beach. Post some more photos of your area if you can. I doubt if I'll ever make it to England to see it in person.

from where i took these pics you can nearly see the sea, i live 15mins on my bike to the beach, when i get down the beach or a nice view ill take few pics mike, i moved here 11 years ago but come from watford in hertfordshire it near london, much nicer here and great for the children,

Kudo's Paul!.....what a great gesture and Zed love the shot of your bicyle, I am also an avid cyclist and am going to the UK next year to visit my wifes relatives and then on down to Spain where her english cousin Ian and his wife Margaret have retired, I would love to possibly visit Sheffield (land of quality steel) if time allows it........take care and enjoy collecting knives! Thanks dave, spain is a lovely place and went there last about 5 years ago, the people are really friendly, cool on coming to the UK shame you cant pop over for a ride yeah love cycling and before had the children i cycled around 70miles a day, plus did a lot of touring years ago and raced, i commute and tow the kids everywhere these days untill i got ill, but im on my way up i hope and the ride yesterday was really nice and sunny but cool am, i even rode through a stream again thanks for the kind comments
