My most recent fixed blade

I don't have very many fixed blades in my collection but that's just because I want too many slipjoints and run out of money.. :lol:

I picked up this Arno Bernard a while back and I'm not sure if I showed it off or not so here it is anyway... :mrgreen:

This is 9" long and made with South African Palm Wood with Crocodile sheath...The unique handle material and sheath did me in... ::mdm::

8) sunburst; Very nice! That Palm Wood almost looks like some kind of

animal hide.

Very Nice! Palm wood that I've seen is usually straight grained. So, it looks like to me that he used the end grain of the wood to get that excellent look. ::tu:: ::tu:: A great way to use that wood!

Thanks guys, much appreciated... :D :D I do believe that this knife will get a test or two skinning next season...I don't know how many of ya'll have had a chance to skin a Piney Wood Rooter (Wild Hog) but they have this thick hair about 2" long that will dull a blade after only a couple of swipes...

I will give this Arno a shot at an ole stinky rooter this year...

8)Sunburst, Some knives just screamed to be used and that knife is definetly one of them. I live in California, so I know nothing about wild hog hunting but it sure sounds like fun ! ! ! :lol:

sunburst if you are looking for a knife to test on your HOG's.

Try this one out. I would like to know how the 3 layer steel holds up to the pig hair.

I will even let your son use it on his next pig.

That is a great looking FB. What is the blade steel? Congrats on the Arno Bernard knife.

That looks bad to the bone, I would be honored to have you give me a hand skinning that next hog...I may want to keep that pretty blade.. :D
