WARPED PLASTIC SCALE FIX?

If this has been covered before,,sorry
BUT,Have wondered if anyone has ever used a heat gun and clamps or other methods to fix warped plastic scales?
If you were careful to not over heat and melt them I can't see why if couldn't work...?
Like on this Kent..

I believe that is an early plastic Camillus was trying before Delrin came along.
I glued one with epoxy, and then clamped it.
It worked well.

I used the 5 minute epoxy from USA Knifemaker’s Supply.

Other suppliers like K & G sell the same epoxy. I am told it is golf shaft epoxy that is private labeled by the manufacturer for knifemaker supply houses. These epoxies are so good, that the three they make, Slow-Cure, Mid-Cure & Quik-Cure are what I use 90% of the time. Since the switch, my glue failures have all but disappeared, but you still have to prep the surface. On this project, clean out surfaces to be glued with 99% isopropyl alcohol (available at most pharmacies), blow out wit h compressed air, allow it to dry thoroughly and glue & clamp. Wipe off the excess glue before it dries.
