What's your current collective poison?

Mine are currently older usa made stockmans and barlows. I picked up 3 kutmaster barlows and an Imperial ez opener awhile back at a gun show. Got to lookin' and realized I have several barlows.

Picked up 2 camillus stockman saturday at a local gunshow. both had been cleaned and buffed, 1 will need some work to get the cleaned bolsters smooth... couldn't see it in the lighting at the show but definitely could when I pulled it out of my pocket at home! oh well.

I'll try and get some photos tonight or tomorrow.

So, what is your current collective poison of choice?

I'm trying to focus on my Canal Street collection and my scout knife collection now.........
but I'm so easily led astray.

Right now I am on a Case #75 Large Stockman and #94 Gunboat Canoe kick. As well as Queen-built Robesons of which I just recently picked up seven, with two more on the way.

But like philco.....I am easily led astray.

Got my eye on some German made Bulldogs and have been really wanting some more GEC's. These could very well do it.

I've been on a Case XX era redbone kick as of late. Add to that a few Case swingguards that I've added to my lil stash as well.

Recently (over the past year) back into collecting after a very long dry spell …

Mostly GECs, a few Case Classics, a few Spydercos … lately developing an interest in Bulldog Sowbellies and Trappers …

… but shiny things tend to easily distract me as well …

one pattern i really like and probably could afford is the sod buster knife, since phil sent me a casexx sodbuster jr its lived in my pocket as find them a good honest hard working knife, so i guess more of that type

Mine specialty is traditional pocketknives.

I don't have many knives that constitute a meaningful theme. If I see a knife I like and I have available money, I'll pick it up. So, my accumulation of knives (not a collection really) has many different styles, brands, blade shapes and so on. I applaud you fellows that can hold to a course and collect specific makes, models, style and display a coherent group of knives with a central theme. Mine seem to have one or more blades and handles, but that's where the commonality kind of disintegrates.

I disagree with you. YOU DO HAVE A COLLECTION! Just because it doesn't follow a theme, style, etc. doesn't mean you don't collect knives or have a meaningful collection.

I might as well be throwing darts at the wall, sometimes I think my collection is all over the place. I guess it just depends what I can find that catches my eye.

For several years now I have been collecting Social Security and...........OH! You mean KNIVES? lol

Seriously I like to collect unusual knives and that is a pretty broad span.To me an unusual knife might have some odd blades or it might not even look like a knife.I favor letter opener knives too.They are still relatively inexpensive and there were many makers.Their quality ranges from great(Remingtons,PALs,and Aerials)to medium(German and English such as Peres)and lower quality such as Colonial,Imperial,and Ambassador.
I like mechanical pencils that have knives in the ends of them.They range from older ones made in Germany(Palmax)that have Stanhope viewers with naughty pictures(for the era)to modern day models made of plastic and stainless steel.
I'm always on the lookout for miniature knives;whether they be fixed blade or folding(preferred).
Some of my latest acquisitions are an old Chinese trousse(two chopsticks and a knife encased in a brass sheath)and a Remington Butcher knife with a MoorMan's logo stamped into it for ten cents!.Yesterday I bought a Victorinox Officer's model knife still in the package at a Goodwill store for $8.Also got a Coleman's wristwatch(needed a pin)brand new for $8 and two Jimmie Buffett books for 25 cents apiece!Never know what you'll find in one of those stores.

Anything candy stripe, Case 1940-55 greenbone, and lately EO jacks.
All predictable choices, but hey, I am pretty new and these are probably normal
phases for a new 'knifer'.

I thought I would just concentrate on Robeson with condition. The problem I have is that also seems to be a passion for others to the point that they are getting too pricey. I just lost on a like new. It would have looked good in my display.

My favorites right now are Queens in Amber stag bone. I think they're some of the best looking knives out there. Combine that with D2 steel at very reasonable price and it's a no-brainer.

I am working on yellow handle knives, I do have a bunch.
They are mostly Case, with a couple others thrown in.
