Question on Richard Sheffield knives
Does anyone know if these pocket knives had stainless blades? When did they go out of buisness? I have heard that Imperial bought them out?

Hi. Richards was actually started by the Ritchartz Bros of Solingen in the 1930s. I imagine, given the political situation of the time, the Anglisised version of the name improved the marketability of the knives. The Richards name and trademark (lamp post) was owned by Imperial in the late 70s but by the early 1980s I believe it went out of business. The Richards knives I have seen have stainless steel blades but these were later models. I can't comment on your particular knife. I hope this helps.
