Cutlers steady(or anvil or stiddy, etc.) (SOLD)
Hey all,
Had a little time to kill a couple days ago and thought I'd start a little project. Since seeing Elvis' post in the repair and restoration thread, I thought I'd make me a steady. And while I was at it, I would make an extra. Here she is. Its made from 4140 pre-hard material so it should last a long time. I didnt want to heat treat it because the little end WILL break off if hardened too much. They are not exactly to Elvis' print, but fairly close. One is a smidgen taller than the other. I just used what I had lying around that already had been squared up. The base is 4" square, the striking surface is about a 1 3/4" wide, overall length is about 4 3/4" long. If anyone is interested in one, I'll take $150 or may take USA or 70's Cases, mint, purty red handles or...... If you want more specifics on the steadys, just shoot me a pm. Thanks! Bill

I made one more Phil. That'll prolly be it for a while. Too many people at work know about it.

Re: Cutlers steady(or anvil or stiddy, etc.) (SOLD)
Hi:
I'm New Here But Was Wondering If I Might Get some Assistance In Locating A (Cutlers Stiddy) For My Shop. I Sell Vintage Knives In Texas And On The Auction Site To Raise Money For Our Non-Profit Organization (Ditwtexas). Which Is Also The User Name We Use On Ebay, Where We Sell Knifes And Other Antiques, Very Rare Antiques. Any How My Friend A.J. Of *AJH* Custom Knives & Services out of Canada Gave ME this Thread To Follow up on. Hey Thanks For Everyone's Consideration In Thinking About Helping Locate This Item.
And This Is A Purdy Neat Place I Might Just add.

So, are there any current makers/ suppliers of this tool, or any previous owners want to pass theirs along? I'd really like to own one of these. Thanks in advance.c
