Case 2000 6254 ss but is it a xx?

Post by CHUCBRICK »

I have a couple of Case knifes model 6254 that I cannot seem to date. The tang stamp simply says case 2000 as does the badge on the side of the knives. I have not seen this in any of the guides including the one on the Case website. Can I assume these are from the year 2000? Please help!

Sounds like they are from the millennium set but I do not know for sure.

The blades have Dale junior and Dale Senior and were sold through snap on tools from what I gather. Any guess as to a value? I am a former dealer and found these in my garage. I bought them from another dealer after he quit the business and then forgot that I had them until I quit myself and was cleaning the garage out.

Thanks for the help

I saw a 6254 in eekBay with that
unusual Case2000 shield and tang stamp.
I asked about it on the cCc forums and
someone said their Rustylocks with that
shield came from SMKW.
Must be one of their SFOs. ::shrug::

I'm asking because I was told that the Case 2000 knives were of less quality than the XX but they are all in Case XX boxes. Just trying to figure out if they were boxed wrong (which could be the case considering how I got them). Or, Are they still XX knives just with a special badge?

Thanks

what wosey is saying is the knife was probably made for smoky mountain knife works(smkw) a company who sells knives as a special factory order (sfo)they are the same qualty case knives just with a different stamp on blade and different shield that knife is probably worth about 50% of what a new one is worth because the taxi cab drivers( nascar) flood the mkt with there limited editions so probably $30 -35 dollars

It looks to me like Red Stag on it, minty, and serialized with the COA in the original box...Its gotta be worth at least 50 bucks ::tu::

As far as the XX quality, in my opinion with Case knives the older the better 8)

Thanks for the replies! I wondered what they would be worth just due to the earnhardt stuff on the blade. I have a 14 knives total. All of them have Snap on and Earnhardt on them. 10 of them are XX. Only four are the Case 2000 stamp. Would they pull those prices ($30 - $50) on ebay?

Might offer out here first and save some fees. I'm not a player on 'em but some of the guys might be.
