Bowie knife ID\Apprasial
Could someone help ID a case xx Jim Bowie knife. It has a black handle, brass hilt and a brass guard that runs along the top of the blade. It has a etching of Davey Crockett on the blade holding a Bowie knvive in his right hand.I looked at a bunch of Bowie knives on the net but could not find one with Crockett on the blade. It is in the display box with leather sheaf.Crockett is wearing a leather fringed coat and a coonskin cap.Any help would be appreciated. Will try to attach a pic.

I bought one 25 years or better ago from a young lady who was having a yard sale. I bought a couple of knives and asked if she had any more. She went to kitchen and came back with the Case Bowie with the man in leather etched on the blade. I assumed it was Jim Bowie. These knives seem to be avaiable. I paid 30 dollars for mine 25 years ago. I have seen some in recent years at flea markets etc for 65. The knife must be just for looks or collection. I can't imagine useing it for anything. It's feel seems it would be more useful as a hacker. It is heavy and strong. I later offered the knife back to the woman I bought if from, as I ran into her and she said her husband came in and when she told him she sold the knife, he said "You sold my fighting knife, that's the one I keep under the seat of my truck for fighting!"
She told me she did'nt want it back.

Case Bowie
I not only own and use my Case Bowie,I just gave it to Case in Pa. to have it cleaned and sharpened with a new sheath so it can go back into the woods and play more better. If you get online with Case they will give you a link to date the knife,as it is still in their stocking item list. When it comes back I will take some pic's and show it while its still clean.
