you was all right, i have another box im working on , plus im bidding on a book at the moment, so getting there slowly, if it wasnt for my dodgy knee i would be down the local market this am , although nothing there last weekend,

Thanks phil, i use macro without flash and use natural lighting when possible, and then hold really steady or use my tripod, i only use a 6.0megapixel olympus sp-700 that i got off of my uncle after my aunty passed away 2 years ago of cancer, she is the reason i collect stuff, its all her fault

R.I.P aunty jean, still leaves a big gap in my life,

Both great looking, knives and pictures.

Looks like I need to do some experimenting with my Canon A3100 IS. It's a 12 megapixel and haven't got my pictures as clear as yours yet.

some days its hit and miss for me as well, but ive found the system i use to work ok , it takes a steady hand but results are ok, just practice and you will get there

Try a tripod, macro mode, two second delay. Eliminates human error.

i use mine with flash off, remember tripod or very steady hand and natural lighting

that is a good pic mike, lovely knife

i find direct light over exposes, i tend to use light through a net on the window taking the pic inside,. very good start mate

ill probably slow down a bit now as got a few different knife types now and i like certain ones more than others, so ill see what comes along next

i have slowed down for the moment as just checking folks posts and learning, plus enjoying using the knives i have got so far, although ive had the barlow in my pocket for a few days now and liking its blade selection as i like the smaller blade as doesnt scare folk

but i think its the congress blade pattern i like the most so i think when i go for something more expensive (one day lol) it will be between these 2 types of pocket knives

or a stockman

I can relate to the picture taking thing. I was looking at some of my photos and I think this one I posted here in the copperhead thread is about the nicest picture I've taken with my cheap camera. Taken outside in natural light at 4 Megapixels and macro mode. Camera is a Kodak C743. Background is an antique tractor calendar photo and the knife looks pretty nice on top of it. IMO of course; sometimes you get lucky.
