In 25 years of looking at and buying Case Tested and Earlier knives,,this knife has something I have never seen.
Its a W.R. Case & Sons with the XX out on the main blade like some Old Case Bros. would have.
I cant wait to get it,,because looking at the pictures it looks pretty good.
Has anybody heard of or seen this combinations of stamping before?
Opinions please.

Re: Old W.R. Case & Sons
Is the whittler pictured a Wr. Case or a Case Bros?
As far as what Singing says I agree,,if its right it has to be some kind of transission knife. I hope it is right,,because if it is,,its my favorite kind of knife,,Old and Rare.

i seen one of these about 25 years ago a friend of mine bought one at a lawn sale for a quarter,it was also a whittler pattern he told me after talking to some older guys in bradford that wr was stamping some of there blades with the xx before he had control of trademark, because of the 2 plants that case bros owned burnt down very close to each other and couldnt produce knives and people were asking for the knives with the 2 xs after getting trademark rights put it on tangstamp i havent seen one since and was surprised to see 2 of them on this post i havent seen him in a while but if i remember correctly jim parker gave him a hand full of shiney new knives for it
