Zippo tang mark on a Case knife???

Post by Guest »

I just discovered in one of my out of the way hiding places a little slip joint stainless steel knife, 2 3/8" closed , 1 7/8" blade with S/S scales with advertising logo of True Value Hardware. This knife is tang marked Zippo little USA and Bradford, Pa. Did Zippo maufacture any knives other than after their aquisition of Case, or is this really a Case manufatured knife with the Zippo tang mark? The stainles scales appear to be the same quality, color amd look of the standard Zippo lighter case. Thanks

Hey Paul,

We always treat you like a guest here...

I don't know the answer to either qustion, unfortunately...but there are some knowledgeable guys here about Case knives, and PA knives, so they should be along soon to help.

Maybe your computer is having an identity crisis...

Best,

To the very best of my knowledge, Zippo knives were not made by CASE. The two were separte companies in Bradford. The knives from Zippo were usually all metal lock backs "like you described" or swiss army types. Not of high quality. But since Zippo and CASE are now brothers, it is possible that newer ones come from CASE. I haven't seen a ZIPPO yet though that matches CASE quality so I beleive that someone other than CASE has and is making them for them. I do kown that sets of lightes and knives have been produced showcasing both companies in one package, also the yearly get together at Bradford is advertised in sets like this too. Hope this helps.
