WTB: large sharpening stone

Post by coffeecup »

I'm in the market for a new stone, figured I'd check here first. Stone needs to be 3" wide minimum, with about an 8" minimum length. Ideally, someone's got one of the old large Norton combination stones tucked away that they'd like to part with, for $$ or trade. Dishing, edge chips, and other signs of wear--as long as they aren't too extreme--would probably be OK.

If you have such a stone you'd like to not have, or know of a good source, please PM me or reply here.

Thanks!
Jim

No, sandpaper on glass, etc, won't work. No, diamond stones won't work. No, water stones won't work.
Quality should not be an accident. So what is the explanation for some of the knives we've seen in the past few years? (from A Knifebuyer's Manifesto)
