I am trying to find a source for 4"x24" sanding belts in 320, 400, 500 and 600 grit, does anyone know where to get these?
Thanks
Kirby

Try Klingspor's ... you may have to call 'em for availability on sizes...http://www.woodworkingshop.com/cgi-bin/ ... UM%20BELTS

Re: Looking for 4x24 sanding belts
These are available on Amazon. They're 3"x24" and I understand you want 4" belts but you could make do with the narrower belts. I've never seen anything that fine in 4" (doesn't mean it doesn't exist.) They come in 220, 320, 400, & 600 grit.

Sorry, my search only found coarser grits in that size. Klingspor
would be my guess as well.

Re: Looking for 4x24 sanding belts
Super grit has 4x24 in 10 packs of aluminum oxide belts in 320 grit.
http://www.supergrit.com/products/produ ... moxide.asp
Also a cork polishing belt - http://www.supergrit.com/products/produ ... s-misc.asp
This place also has 320- http://www.industrialabrasives.com/4-x- ... p-477.html
Here are 3x24 up to 400 grit with other grits available by special order.
http://www.industrialabrasives.com/3-x- ... p-508.html
Note these are Silicon Carbide & appear to be made for glass and used wet.
They should work fine with steel, but may load up badly with wood, bone or stag.
That is a pretty unusual size of belt from what I can see looking at what sizes are available. Is that a hand held sander of some sort?
Hope this helps,
Dale

Thanks for the links, it is a Bosch hand held being used in the inverted position with a foot switch.
