Hi, Just found this very interesting forum so am a newbie. Have chance to purchase 4 knives one of which is OLD TIMER 101OT.SCHARDE USA. on tang. I have searched all places I canfind and can't find any 101OT. Wonder is there any one here [must be] that can put me on the right track or supply some imfo,,,Thanks Gary..

Howdy ringergary,

If it's a two blade knife about 2 3/4" long it would be a 104OT. If it is a one blade about 3 7/8" it would be a 194OT. Those are the only models I can see being misread as a 101. A more detailed description would enable a better guess. My bet is on the 104.

Thanks oldgoat, I haven't purchased them yet, I asked to verify the #'s on tang and he swears they are 101OT, so that's all I can go. Will go ahead with purchase and post some pic's then you will be able to be certain, thank's for your help,,,

Many Schrade numbers are hard to read, especially on the smaller knives. I would guess it is a 104OT. It is a small knife and very difficult to read the stamp even sometimes with good magnification.

The Imperial Schrade Corp. (the U.S. maker of Old Timers) never made a 101OT.

PS- you might ask him for the closed length of the knife and compare it to the chard of Old Timer numbers.

Hi Dale, Yeh I looked thru your Research pages[they are real informative] and couldn't find a 101, that is why I asked the seller to double check it, he informs me it is 101, so I came here to get some advice, his eyes are probably like mine. Anyhow you both have confirmed that Schrade don't make a 101 and I like the style of these so I will bid on them. I sort of fell for the OLD TIMER years ago, mostly the 34OT for stock work [carry on belt pouch] and have been trying to aqquire the USA ones. You can buy those c...a ones here in Aust by the dozen. This is becoming an essay, will post pic's if I win auction. Regards Gary..

fits well in the watch pocket of your jeans
w/o blocking access to the big pocket contents.
Since you like the 34OT (who don't?) be forewarned
Schrade didn't make an 84OT either. Just another
tang stamp + bad eyesight = mystery pattern that
winds up being a 34 stockman when it arrives.
Not that there's anything wrong widdat just not
as rare scarce as an 84 or 101 OT.
BTW, not sure if you meant to or not but your title
