These two knife related items came in today's mail.
I wanted something in the garage to tell me when it's too cold to be out there,

so I picked up this new, distressed to look old, Schrade thermometer. I think I'm going to like it. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, it's fairly small - 5 1/8" X 17".
I like a sharp knife as much as the next guy but I'm too lazy to put in the time required when you use a stone. I bumped into this Work Sharp Knife & Tool Sharpener by Darex, LLC, the same company that makes the Drill Doctor drill bit sharpeners. I watched the video and liked what I saw but when I discovered they also made Drill Doctor (I've had one for several years and love it.), I was sold. The best price I found was on Amazon.com. Love that free shipping.
I used the 40 deg. (20/20) guide to sharpen five knives, a Rough Rider doctor knife, a Buck 301 and my current EDC, a Buck 055 as well as two of my girlfriend's kitchen knives. I'm very pleased with the results. I'll still send my Shun kitchen knives back to Kershaw for sharpening but everything else around here will see the WSKTS when it gets dull. Fast, easy and very sharp edges. Now I can be lazy and have sharp knives.
For the purists. No, it doesn't sharpen all the way back to the tang but I'm not that fussy with my EDCs. I'm just happy the blade is sharp and I didn't have to put in several hours to get it that way.
