Mohawk???? WITH PICS
A friend of mine found a fixed blade hunter about ten inches long with stacked leather handle.
The tang is stamped: MOHAWK
USA
No pics, but any guesses as to manufacture? Looks similar to a western.

I saw one on ebay about 3 weeks ago, did some quick googling and didn't come up with anything solid. Almost bid on it...should have, as I believe it went fairly cheap. Only thing I can guess is maybe it was an brand used by Utica, as Utica is in the Mohawk Valley of NY.

Please excuse the poor quality, but here's a picture of a Kabar 1207, '60s or '70s vintage. I couldn't help but notice the similarities in the handle construction...spacer colors, 3 finger grooves in the handle...maybe there's a Kabar connection?
