long nail nick ?

Ive notced that some pocket knives have these and some dont, plus some makes like case seem to use them on some models, is there a reason or is it simply just a different type of nail nick ? sorry for yet another newbie question, :?

long nail nick on my 303 cadet, i actualy like the look of these types of nicks,

Case refers to that as a "long pull", it is designated by LP on the end of the model #, example would be a 6207/6207LP. Usually on the older Case patterns the LP will increase the value, sometimes by quite a bit.

thanks for that information mate, long pull, i do prefer this look, plus i find them pretty easy to use, there does seem to be a few older knifes with this LP on them so i guess its a pretty old idea,

also those long pulls with the hash marks in them, are called match striker pulls.. i supposed its obvious that you can rub a stick match along it to ignite the match, chet
