Stirrup Brand

Post by bubba »

I have a fixed blade bird knife tang stamped Stirrup Brand over a graphic of a stirrup. Anyone ever heard of this brand? We are told the knife is about 70 years old.

Hi bubba,

I checked both Balde's Guide to Knives & Their Values, and Goin's Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings and found no listing in either book for Stirrup brand. Sorry I couldn't help. :(

Hi, I am New to this Forum!
Stirrup Brand used to be the Brand of Picard (www.Picard-Hammer.de), which they used outside Germany! I did Not Know, that we also made knifes! Could you send me a picture of it? Maybe I can find out some more for you! It should be at least 50years old!

Hey! I'am not really interested in knifes! Satisfied, the ones I have! I am associate with (in??) Picard! Telling you, that my English is not very good!
I'am not working for them, but a small associate! Very little! Started to get interested in and found a lot of Hammers in the cellar! I did not recognize, whether there were knifes! Give me time! Will find out for you!
But great to hear, that there are people around the world interested in! I am collecting Absolute Vodka! So, I am also happy, if someone enters the cellar!
If you are interested in, I would be glad to send you "Stirrup Brand" Hammers! As long, as they are still in the cellar! (-; they started cleaning up! (-; found some brochures from 1930, but there are no knifes in it! We will see! I'am just interested in the history of the company!
