craftmans pocket knives

craftman poctet knives how good are they I know they ain't worth that much but I throught I heard they were made by scharde the reason I asking is because I found some awhile back. For around 10$ I have been wanting a knife to customize and I throught it would be a good place to start thanks

I think Schrade and Camillus both made knives to be labeled Craftsman. I have a couple of them and they are good knives. For ten bucks, I'd pick up a Craftsman that was in good shape. Or maybe you could find one of these - an unfinished Craftsman from the Camillus bankruptcy sale. It would make a great project knife.

Schrade made some knives for Sears, but Camillus made the most. Also, Ulster made some way back in the 1940's. In the last years of the Imperial Schrade Dynasty, Camillus, Schrade & Imperial (in R.I.) were constantly trading back and forth materials, jobs, machinery and workers, whatever was needed to keep things going. If a particular folder has no evident pins through the bolsters, it was made only in the Schrade Ellenville NY buildings, as the machinery existed nowhere else. I think, without good evidence, that knives made for Craftsman possibly had the best quality control.

I have three of them. Two are Craftsman branded Kershaw scallions and one of them is a two blade jack with Japan stamped on the tang. It looks like green tinted bone for scales. The two blader is a solid seemingly well made knife and holds an edge.

I have one of my great grandfather knife its a craftsman I think its made by camilus it has bone handle its a boy scout knife. The one I was looking at was a derin handle two blade jack it was at a junk shop with I bought some knives at before I am just thinking about getting and do so custom work to it as a project because I can found craftsman knives all the time pretty cheap too

This has been posted before on another thread. Ulster cattle pattern with a craftsman etch. Steel bolsters and liners. Was this a leftover from a wartime contract, etched for Sears?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I sure like that cattle knife!
