Micron Papers

I got the idea for these from orvet and I have to say that they do work great!
You simply go from the most course to the finest paper and you're done. And they're color coded if you're an idiot like me. Great for bolsters, I even used it on this old POS knife I got and turned it into a nice EDC for me. Polished the handles and got out all the blemishes and dings in it.

It is great stuff Perry, as you found out.
They measure it in microns, but I always use the grit equivalent as I don't have all the micron numbers memorized yet.
The grits available are:
400, 600, 1200, 4000, 6000 & 8000 grits.

I polish bolsters starting at 400 grit and work up through 8000.
I am careful to work all the scratches of the previous size out before moving to the next higher grit.
When I have completed the process I almost don't need to buff them.
Just a few seconds on the No Scratch Pink wheel and they shine like a diamond in.....oops!......... never mind.....that was something my Drill Instructor used to say.

Hey Dale, I got these from Amazon and basically the same as you stated but came with this chart so I would keep track of which is which, that helped a lot!

thats what i need is a chart got mine from otto frei but not really sure about grit since i bought a assortment pack. . do you know if all the colors are standard ? thanks

Ever tried the micromesh stuff? I've run that all the way to 12,000 grit, it works great, and seems to hold up pretty well too. It's just not cheap :/
