I know this is a pocket knife forum but I'm sure someone here can answer my question.
Is there any value on a Buck 119 hunter with the state of Idaho on the tang stamp? I was browsing the local K-Mart and found one on the shelf. I need it like a hole in the head, but that hasn't stopped me befor.

I don't know about value, but they are made in Idaho as of late. Post Falls, Idaho. I've spent a little time around there.

That's a 2005 year era Buck knife with that tang stamp isn't it? As far as value IG, I couldn't be of much help but, you could try checking the ended Ebay auctions to get a general figure of there average selling value.

Re: A question on a Buck knife
The Buck knives with the state of Idaho shape on the tang stamp were so marked to commorate the first year of production in Buck's new facility in Post Falls, Idaho. At this point there is not a tremendous amount of collector value for the knives so marked, but lets remember that the ten dot Case knives were not highly sought collectables in 1975 either.
It would be a good one to put up for a while. Something tells me in time to come that tang stamp will be more sought after.

In knife collecting, a man never can tell for sure can he phil? I'd hold on to it too. Buck makes good knives and has great customer service. Plus, they don't eat anything so you don't have to feed them.
