Ya gotta love a dog with a drive! Bret posted our boy Buzz a few pages back in this thread. I haven't ever seen a dog with his incredible drive to hunt birds before... Buzz is fun to watch!Earl wrote:Thanks folks.

Re: SHOW US YOUR PETS!!!
My mom, being a good German (Straus), would use the rabbit to make Hossenfeffer, which was a sweet sour rabbit. My uncle, who was also German (Houp), on the other hand, would fry the rabbit or squirrel, or chicken, or what ever and then simmer the meat in beer gravy. He used a 12 oz. bottle of beer instead of water or milk, that sat open over night so that it would be flat when he poured it in the hot skillet. Kept it from boiling out.

Hey guys, here are some pics of our dogs.
This is a picture of Chumly, (the big one) and his mom Matilda.

This is Willow, she's a bit psychotic.

We have another boy, and a little pug, I'll try to get pics of them soon.

Re: SHOW US YOUR PETS!!!
That was a real cool video tj!!
Did you guys ever fillet rabbit? An older woman showed me how to do it and surprisingly you leave very little meat on the bone. It's been a long while since I had rabbit myself.
I don't think many folks do it now, but not many years ago, several neighbors kept tame rabbits to eat. I never eat one, but everyone always said it was the tenderest meat you could eat. I think I'd have a hard time looking into those little rabbit eyes, with it's little white fur and thinking how good he would taste!

Re: SHOW US YOUR PETS!!!
Here's my "pack". I live on a small farm in an area where some folks drop dogs from time to time. Over the years I've ended up with several of them and have found homes for several more.
My crew consists of a 14 year old beagle mix named Pepper who was a stray that showed up here at about 10 weeks of age and has been here ever since.
Next is Foxy, an Australian Shepherd mix that was also a dropped dog. She's been here maybe 7 or 8 years now.
Then there's Casey, an eight year old Chocolate Lab. He was in a litter of pups from a friends dog and was the only one of my dogs that wasn't someone elses reject.
After that is Cody, an eleven year old German Shepherd that I got for "security purposes" from the humane society when he was about a year old.
Last but far from least is Bud, my constant (almost) companion. He was also a dropped dog that I picked up off the side of the road near my home a little over 11 years ago. He was about six months old at the time. He's the only one of the bunch that's a house dog. He sticks with me like glue. If I move to another room he goes with me. If I lay down to sleep he's there by my side all night long. When I pick up my car keys he's ready to go on a road trip no matter if it's an all day journey or just to the mailbox at the end of the lane.
When I can find them I'll show some cat pics too. Right now they are laying low.
