Reconstituted White Turquoise On Bulldog Swing Guard

Well, I got this one back from Jeff last week also. This has a white reconstituted Turquoise with a reconstituted Black Lip Pearl cigar band. There is some rainbow colors in the cigar band when it is in the light, but these pictures were quickly taken just off the back porch.

The recon material is about 86% ground material and 14% polymer.
I think he did a great job with the filework and the whole package.

I think we both wanted to see what that white turquoise would look like.

Very nice Hukk, Jeff did a fantastic job...The Turquoise is impressive with the swing guard, nice choice of knives to put it on..

The filework is great, I love the style that Jeff chose to apply..

What is definition of reconstitued Turquoise??? Is it somehow rehydrated in some fashon??

Well, it is my understanding that they grind natural stone to a powder and then add a resin or polymer to create a solid material. In the Jantz catalog they have a good number of Gemstone Composites. What I don't know about the process is how they get the pattern back into the material once it has been ground up. For instance, this material is white turquoise with onyx vein. That's what I don't know, how do they get the onyx vein back in if everything was powdered.
Once they make the scales or blocks, no special lapidary equipment is needed. It can be tooled by the same tools that are used on hardwood scales. Thanks!

I'm glad you like it, I almost wish I had it back since I've had time to play with the inlaying process a little. I am proud of the filework on this one.

I love that handle material.

I just ordered a bunch of it.

Etc., Etc. ....

I have Case trappers and Buck 110's standing by.

I would have to say that the Swing Guard is my favorite knife to customize. The filework is excellent!!!

I really like the look of the 2 Jaspers and the Giraffe.
I guess we will be seeing a Buck 110 with Leopard Skin Jasper and some bolster work in the future??

That looks like a natural to me. Pearl inlay?
I'd like to see some pictures of knives handled in your new materials. They will look great!
