Guys. I had fun at last night's auction. What a breath of fresh air!

As most of you know, I had given up on cutlery forums. I felt that most of those guys didn't even really like knives. I began to get correspondence from other "more mature collectors" that the same thing was going on. I was almost out of the door.

Then I heard about AAPK. I admit I had reservations. But you guys welcomed me. Even when you debate you treat me more with "gentle teasing" than outright contempt. And you'll never need to. Just say, "Chico I disagree," and offer a rebuttal.

I hope I've passed your tests and have become a 'member' in the traditional sense. I'll post pictures and document everything I say--considering I have a bizarre sense of humor and like to spin a good tale.

Now that a member owns one of my edges I hope folks study the Japanese traditions.

But thanks, guys. You have no idea on just how important this forum is to many old hobbyists.

Well, glad you enjoyed the auction. Thank you for your donation to AAPK.

As far as sence of humor goes, different strokes different folks.Sometimes we may touch a soft spot in someone, but then we have to learn at then respect that. We here at AAPK love our hobby, some may more than others. Its all about having FUN and enjoying a part of history to some aspect. Its in our blood.

Well, glad to see you didn't give up and decided to stay. As for me, I hope we can all learn and share our knowledge with each other and just have a good ole time. Hope you decide to join us again at the auction. The guys here are great..

Kickstand?

LOL. Yup, you got it. The Harley manual calls the kickstand a "jiffy stand." No kidding.

In the old days we used to put a pop can under the stand as we lowered the bike onto it. It crushed, but it did not leave a mark on a guy's new driveway.

We now have big resin discs that you can carry, and even fancy-schmancy ones that have slots to fit the stand.
