The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

i recently p u this kabar has both stamps kabar and union cut co, strange thing to me is pat pending stamp on backside scale on tang end it appears as it was hot stamped into it thanks troy

anyone like to give an age to this im thinking 1950-51 with this combo of stamps but kabars are tuff to date
