Well now...

With a lot of help, and some luck...

Several of us who post here, also have spent time ( Inside joke for LT) at the Schrade Collectors Forum over at Bladeforums.

After Gr8Scout worked his magic to do a 2005 knife, we were looking for something extra special to try and top the first knife. Sooooo...

With gracious help from Tom Giorgianni, he was able to convince his father Frank, who was the original Schrade artist for a majority of the older Scrims, to Hand Scrimshaw a small number of 505s for our little group of "Uncle Henry's Lost Souls."

Maybe LT will see this post and add a little bit about Frank, as they are friends.

The knives are quite beautiful...as are the older ones like you've posted.

Now I see some of the knives that I got out bid on E Bay.

But at the same time it's nice to see they have gone to a nice home and get showed here at AAPK.

El Lobo and Gr8Scout that is one I all ways

over. What can I use to clean my keyboard again ?

What Schrade Scrimshaw is the most saut after ? Pattern ? I find that they all (if in real good shape) bring top $$$$ and I all ways get beat out.

I think that the complete set of the Indian knives is the most valued. Or perhaps it is the special set of micarta handled 'Presidents'. Those latter knives are more rare, but so many collectors don't know much about them. Even BR Levine had to come to our LT632ret to find out all the particulars concerning the 'Presidents'.

What year where they made in ?

Sorry but the person befor me had them in a glass case in a wall and I think the sun changed to white to yellow.
I do NOT know how to clean them up more than useing Ren-Wax cuz of the scrimshawing might come off.

I believe your knife was from the "Pioneers of America" series. Pony Express was 1988. May have had a sheath at one time.

Ken,

There was also a Teddy Roosevelt knife. LT knows all the details, maybe he'll chime in here, if Phil doesn't remember. From what I remember, the Washington may be Delrin, and the others are Micarta handles, thus the difference in color. Not 100% on that though.

CaseV42 that is the Lance.I understand it was made for Montgomery Wards.Not as many made as the others so they are seldom up for auction and when they are they are usually a lot more expensive.Arnold

The knife on the left is the Sundance.The scrim shows a warrior being hung during the ceremony.The knife on the right shows a brave with a lance.Arnold

Thanks much! I acquired a "lance" recently, and couldn't find any info on it anywhere. I have the six American Indian series, so I knew it wasn't one of those. Now I have seven, I guess.
