Very Nice Robeson EO Jack On The Bay (Not Mine)

Post by RobesonsRme.com »

This auction is for a very nice looking Robeson 622027 EO 3 5/8" swell-end jack.
This is not my knife, it is not my auction.
I know that some of you like Robesons, some like EO's, and some just like spear bladed jacks.

I would love to see one of you get this knife.

Absolutely beautiful jigged bone handles. ::tu::

Charlie, you just listed 3 things I definitely like and showed a prime example of it. That is nice! Wish it fit the budget....maybe time to buy a lotto ticket.

Not having the knife in hand, I cannot say for certain, but it does not look to have been cleaned to me. It has a beautiful glazed finish, as it should, and that is a factory kind of thing that knife cleaners just cannot adequately duplicate.

I have a mint example of this pattern and it has the same glazed finish, not crocus polished. The knife was meant as a working man's knife.

I cannot speak to the value of the knife in this economy we are currently living in, but a year or two ago this knife would have been priced at $450.00 or more by any of the big time dealers at a major knife show.

But, caveat emptor. I'd prefer a return policy before I bid that kind of money on any Ebay item. The seller states, "No Returns Accepted". I've bought from this man before, had no problems.

He has a perfect Ebay feedback for what that's worth and he has a five star rating on his descriptions for the past twelve months.

Expand the pics and take a really close look.

Ask him some pointed questions about the knife. Maybe he'll grant a five to seven day return on it if nicely asked.

I'm not trying to sell the knife for the guy. I just would like to see someone here take possession of it.

I'm not going to tout the knife any further.

However, I will suggest what has worked for me in the past regarding getting a seller to agree to a return privilege.
I state that if I'm the winning bidder and for any reason I wish to return the knife, I'll pay all the shipping costs, reimburse the seller for his Ebay listing fees, and pay to re-list the knife. That way, it costs him nothing for me to have a look at the knife.

I do not think a seller has to pay Ebay their percentage of the sell price on a returned item. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that.

I was also planning to bid, but will not bid against you either, Dave O. The bidding is at $146 with 4 days still to go, I think it will near $400 by the end. Good luck to you.

I made a brash and bold statment when I suggested you all let me have it. I will probably not pay the price that it will go for , so i am withdrawing my earlier plea. Have at it gentlemen.

Congrats Dan, that is a very nice knife. Selling price for that knife in that condition was very reasonable. ::tu::

Danno, congratulations. I think you're going to like that knife.
Does it take 2-3 wks for package shipment across the Canadian/US border?

Thanks for the congrats Paul and Charlie, I am really looking forward to seeing it in person, it will be my only mint vintage knife. The fastest I have ever received a package from the USA is 9 days. I usually start looking for them after about 13 days and some have taken up to 21 days, allthough sometimes the seller takes a few days to get them shipped. This seller was very good, just emailed me to say it was in the mail as of this AM.

Well, there ya go. Now, we'll ALL be on pins & needles until you post about its arrival.

I'm pretty confident about the knife's condition. I'm almost willing to offer to purchase it from you for what you paid if you're not happy with it.

I said "almost". ::paranoid::

I will tell you that I paid more for this one some years ago. I think I bought this knife at the first NKCA Dalton, GA knife show.

Thanks for the almost offer, Charlie. Pretty sure I will be happy with it. I've given away a few of my old tactical style knives to some of the young guys I work with but I have never sold one.

The knife arrived today. It is a very nice knife, I like it a lot. I don't believe it has ever been sharpened. I can't take better pictures than those that have already been posted so will not try. Have to quit looking on ebay for awhile now as I have spent my knife budget for some time, but no regrets.

Lovely knife. I sure wish someone would offer a new or reproduction version of it. (Anyone listening @ GEC ??)
