Hello, a few days ago I was working on scanning trying to improve my pictures. I did something to the computer and all my pictures went to the size of my monitor so big that they would not attach, we could not reverse this. I trashed everything I had in my files and started over, it seems to be better, but not like it was. Also in this time I did a update to the computer,could this have effected my ability to attach pictures? Here is a Case Bros. Little Valley NY. I sent this picture to see if I could attach again. I like the forum wish we could use a Big chief tablet.

I've been thinking a bit about this. Maybe the settings for your scanner software was reset to a default image size (huge). That is only speculation and I can't say for sure because I hate my scanner and can't ever get it figured out.
I'm far from knowledgeable on this subject in other words.
I did search the forums for the link I told you about via email to free programs that can be used to resize images. Good ol' Bill posted it a while back...

You may have changed the resolution for your monitor, in Windows XP this can be changed by right clicking on the desktop and choosing "screen mode" or going to "properties" then "configuration" (I'm using Windows in Spanish so the terms may be different but something like that.
I use PhotoFiltre which can be found in the link posted by Bryan, I normally set resolution, size and crop directly from the scanner software (I could do it with PhotoFiltre too), then I open the file with Photofiltre and apply any filters (brightness, contrast, sharpness, etc.) and save the file as a .jpg with 72% compression quality (this compression quality reduces the size of the file without changing the size of the picture and is fine for viewing in a monitor, for printing pictures a higher value should be used).
The Microsoft Office Picture Manager, which might have come installed in your PC, is good for simple editing, such as cropping, resizing and changing brightness/contrast.
