Help I.D. this tang stamp

Just picked up this 5" tickler from a buddy for the ultimate bargain...free. It has what I believe are called candy stripe celluloid scales. The mark is WK in a circle. No other marks. Any ideas on who used this mark and when this knife may have been made?

i found a reference to the tang stamp in goins, but no more info as to the name of the company. looks like the handles are gassing. nice old toothpick.

Please do NOT store that knife with any other knife untill you remove the scales. Then throw the scales in a fire. If you can replace them do so or give MM the chance to fix the knife for you.

yep, it's gassing and will ruin your other knives. I can put custom scles on it if interested.

Muskratman,
I tried clicking on your link with no success. I dont know what to do about this one. How can one tell if the cell handles are starting to gas? I would like to ID the mark on this so I know if its worth spending any money on. What kind of price range are we talkin for new scales? When that is done would it be a good idea to have this knife thoroughly cleaned? Is that something you do? If it is I have some knives that have some rust, had them in a box since boyhood and maybe the one cell handled knife that was in there has gassed them? Not sure but one of them is my first knife, an old Craftsman Barlow that my Dad used to carry and gave me when I was just a pup. It has rusted some and main blade wiggles when open. Maybe I should start a new thread on restoration, as I dont know much about this.
