Pull the bolster out & the blade is on a ratchet - Push the bolster in & the blade closes - nice little gentlemans knife.

I googled FR Hewett - not much luck - This wasn't a cheap knife - very well made - It's also interesting that they got a patent on it. To go to the trouble & expense to get a patent, somebody really felt they had a winner.gino wrote:Cool little knife Tom.
It popped into my head last night that i had seen this knife or one like it before - Mike Herron retired professor from Texas A&M was showing me this same style of knife back in the late eighties - He had some body - I think he got them from Jim Sargent & had Jim etch his name on the blade - Mike had a bunch of them made up to give away as gifts.
