Case began using that style of box in late 1985. It was used for all standard product Case pocket knives from then through 1987. Dealers did not like this style of box since the boxes were hard to stack for storage of inventory. In 1988 Case switched to the style of box that they still use today, though the graphics and colors on the new style boxes have changed a number of times.

Prior to the introduction of this box in 1985, standard production Case pocket knives were never individually boxed, except on special order. They were bulk packed six to a box in older stly two piece boxes.

Your box was for a 6275 SP "Moose" pattern which had bone handles and CV steel blades.

I can see why dealer's objected to this style's
unstackability (that a real word?) but I like the
design and colors of this short-lived box.
I bought one of the annual promo knives w/the raised
shield from Cofer Bros. in Tucker Ga in this style box.
The raised shield always catches my eye but the
weird pattern number YO200 made it a gotta get it.
Everybody needs one copperhead trapper, right?

Steve, the raised shield does cause me to wonder
about the one shown on this box.
Did the earlier 85-86 boxes also display the raised shield
or were there two separate logos used in it's short duration ?
(since raised shield was on 87-89 knives)
