Curley Cutlery Co.
Goins encyclopedia of cutlery markings shows Curley Cutlery Co. New York in business from 1860 to 1921. I have a aluminum handle single blade pocketknife with the Curley Cutlery Co. tang stamp. The handles are molded with a scene of a grandpa holding his hat on one side. HELLO BOYS is in an arch over his head, with BUNNY below him. On the back side are two boys laying on their stomach. The words FOXY GRANDPA are between them. I have an old (1908) book about FOXY GRANDPA. Its like an early comic book. Part of the fun collecting knives is finding the related items.

I think Foxy Grandpa was an old newspaper comic strip, too.

Here is a sweet little 4 blade pearl with an old post card. Curley's are hard to find and were well made.

Outstanding knife Mike!
I love a bit or history when I see a brand that is new to me.
It helps put it in context historically.

Very cool knife and the additional graphics make it even more so. I love the large bump in the handle for the hat.

Re: Curley Cutlery Co.
Hope no one minds me bringing back this thread.
Perusing through AAPK and came across these posts showing some cool examples of Curley knives with corresponding ephemera.
Here is a Curley Cutlery Co. New York pen knife that was stashed in my small knife drawer. I know I have a couple of these around but well you know how it goes.... I'll post the other one when it turns up. This one is a two blade pen knife with one of the blades being a Curley's patented nail file dated Dec. 8, 1885 (patent date - not knife date). It is in very nice condition, looking to have been sparingly used or not at all. The handle is
3 1/10" oa. and is metal(untested at this point) with no liners. Fairly heavy for such a thin knife. The blades are solid and very snappy.
Enjoy!
