Some of my knives I have such a HIGH price on it I HOPE NO ONE BUYS her.... ::ds:: ::ds::

But I have sold 15 knives this year so far. So I must be doing some thing right. This makes me wounder should I raise the prices???

What do you as knife buyers think?"

I agree with you Dale. ::nod::

Im my opinion Paladin's store listings is the perfect example of what I as a buyer want to see. No bull, just all the facts to the best of his knowladge about the item for sale.

I happen to collect Keen Kutters and there is a knife for sale now on the site that I have serious reservations about. I would never accuse anyone of selling a counterfeit intentionally unless they did it consistently and knowingly (e.g. 1959Brett, myrtlefaye), since I really can't see their intentions, however, it is quite possible that someone might inadvertently sell a "restored' or otherwise unoriginal knife without knowing it.

I agree. After seeing your post, I viewed the Keen Kutter knives & spotted one that is not vintage as described, IMO. I do think it is most likely an accident, but I'll pull listing, mark it "pending review" & contact seller about it asap.

If the seller is sure in his mind that it is legit, we'll discuss it and might have to seek additional opinions. If found to be authentic, I'll re-list.

msteele, I suspect we are looking at the same knife, but please pm or email me ([email protected]) with item # if the one you spotted is still listed.

I wholeheartedly agree about the counterfeits that might show up here. However, if a knife isn't right it could be because the seller doesnt' know it's fake. I feel like Bryan gives ample opportunity for the seller to make it right.

As for pricing, well if you don't like the price, don't buy. I've seen many knives on here that I felt were way overpriced. But, I didn't complain openly on the forum about it. I just moved on to the next knife I wanted to look at. Some sellers buy knives today and then price for resale. Other's bought them years ago and are still making good money on the very same knife even though they are selling it much cheaper than the guy who just bought the same knife today.

Also, prices change all the time just like in everything else. I could have bought all kinds of silver eagles last year for 18-25 bucks new. Now I've heard they are pushing 35 bucks unless prices have come down in the last couple of weeks. Had I bought last year as say 20 I could sell today at 29 and make good profit. But if I buy today at 35 I have to make profit so I sell above that price. It's still a silver eagle, just a different year, but the value is still the same at today's price of 35. Make sense? I sometimes have a hard time explaining myself.

It's the same with knives. Someone may have bought some Schrades 10 years ago at wholesale price of say $10. He can then sell them at $20 and make money on it. The next guy buys a 10 year old scrhade today at 20 and he has to sell it for 25 to make money.

So, you are not always seeing apples and oranges when it comes to pricing or pricing structures here on the AAPK stores. Some guys can afford to sell cheaper than others.

Another thing to consider is the book price and the actual selling price of knives. If you look in many of the knife pricing books out there they may have a Case knife listed for say $125 as the perceived value of that knife. But, you may only be able to actually sell the knife for half that price. Does it make it wrong to list the price at $125 in hopes of getting that much? No, because someone may want it for that price and feel like they got a real good deal on it. Then, if it doesn't sell at that price, you can always lower the price until it does sell. It's that way in any business.

Some people just want something for nothing and complain when they can't afford or are willing to pay what something is worth. ::disgust::

When I see a knife I know to be way overpriced, I just move on. If the guy selling it can get the overpriced value out of it than good for him! I couldn't be happier for him. Would I buy it at that price.....no way! But I aint' going to complain about how he priced because he can ask whatever price he wants to try and get.

Just my opinion.
God Bless!
