A Review of a Boker BK 2525-JRBI Trapper

Hi Hawke,

I have been using a Boker 2525 red jigged bone trapper as my EDC and finally had a chance to put it to the test tonight. I was able to skin and quarter a nice sized wild hog ( We are being overrun in East Texas) with the boker and it worked like a champ. I had to hit it a few strokes on a diamond rod when making the initial cuts (hog skin and hair is very abrasive) but this was very minimal( 3 strokes on each side) I am impressed and pleased. I just thought there might be someone out there who was thinking about the Boker and might appreciate this info. I guess I should get some of these for my store.

Hard to beat the Solingen Steel! They holdthe edge so well and like you said sharpen up really nice compared to the Stainless blades.

I tell ya the very worst for me to sharpen is a Buck. I can get them sharp but I havent gotten the knack of it really yet. I have the hardest time with them. I have a Buck I do use for work at times, but I cut the end off of it (on purpose) It only has 3/4 inch of flat edge left to sharpen. The rest is serrated and its not to bad to sharpen. This is a work knife used to strip wire with. (Im an electrician)

I sold one of my best work knives to a fellow electrician, was a Solingen Buck Creek 4 blade congress. Had three Sheepfoot blades.
