Anyone know anything about bayonets??

This was in my dads collection and I think he brought it back with him when he was in the marines. It has a couple stamps on it that look like some type of military marking. Also there are some numbers and letters stamped on it. Anyone know what the stamps could mean? Maybee I can find more out about it if i knew what those markings were.

Looks like a modified WW2 for later service, pictures are pretty dark.

I know, im going to fix that as soon as I can. Should have better ones up by tomarrow depending on how long it takes me to fall asleep tonight

And ya modified makes more sence becuase of the hadle. All the others ive seen were lighter wood and this is just black.
