Monk....
If it's the one I'm thinking of you won't...a private party had three GEC SFO knives run - stag, antique horsecut and ruby red all in 100 each.....the way to tell is it's missing Cyclops Steel Works on the tang whereas other GEC stamped knives will....also these were run in 420hc not 440c.

Nice score!
I can't believe how fat the stag is on that pup!
I saw it listed and almost pulled the trigger myself but I bought 3 knives last week and had to take a breath.
Big folders, fat stag, GEC..... that's my strategy right now.

Monk......
Unfortunately I don't know who had them made, though Bill never had them on his site..so I think we could eliminate him as the one who had them built. And as far as the steel use..you're right on..cost....
I remember when they first showed up on EBay and there were discussions about the these knives...matter of fact I believe if you go to a certain GEC dealer who runs a blog and do a search....I can't think of any terms to search but if you go back pages to 2008 time frame there is a discussion there but I don't remember if there will really be any additional information.

Man, I'd like to have that one.
Anyway, I bought one of these in Ruby Red back when they were being sold on ebay originally.
The ebay user name was "jrickman2452"
This was the paypal ship from address:

Hey Eric____I did some research,on the knife, and the seller ,is correct,___he is still selling knives,on the bay,and has some nice knives !!! And,as boggs,said---I am assuming, that the blade steel,is 420HC,since there is no ""cyclops steel"' etch,on the blades / tang*** It is still a very, nice knife, and a keeper ,in my bookSyztems Rety wrote:Man, I'd like to have that one.
