Buck 309

Post by agteacher2 »

Hi Folks,
I finally got a changce to get back out in to my knife shop today. It has been very busy around here since the first week of October. I have a couple of customers knives that I need to work on ( ::nod:: Hukk) but I figured I would get a little practice on one of my own first.

This is a little 1999 Buck 309. I used Gold lip pearl, Apple Coral and the center section is what I suppose you would call second cut sambar stag. I just ground the rough part off of it. I originally tried it with the grarly bark left on but it didn't suit me.

Man it felt good to get the buffing goo under my finger nails again.

Jeff

That Gold lip pearl I bet looks kool in you hand.
What angle did you use on each end of it?
I like it much better than 45 degrees.

Thanks Guys,

Ken,
I just followed the angle that was on the Buck bolsters. The biggest challenge with this was cutting off the badge. It along with the bolsters were machined out of a solid piece of nickel.

Hukk,
Maybe next week I'll get a chance ot look at your turquoise project.

Merry Christmas to All,

Jeff
