WTB: scout knives for Scouts

Post by coffeecup »

I need locate and purchase up to a dozen scout knives of the 3- or 4- blade variety for our pack's teaching collection. Stuff I can easily fix--rust, broken/missing scales, etc--are fine as long as the blades are mostly there and the springs are good. I think the current collection is mostly Imperial/KampKing, with a couple of Ulsters and Camillus knives.

These are the knives we use to teach knife safety, sharpening, etc. Once the kids have their "Totin' Chip" (have passed safety and use tests on knife/ax/saw) they buy their own knife.

PM me with what you've got and a price. Thanks!
Quality should not be an accident. So what is the explanation for some of the knives we've seen in the past few years? (from A Knifebuyer's Manifesto)

Will camper patterns do? In other words, knives that are like boy scout knives but not specifically Boy Scout knives.

Paladin-
they definitely don't have to be official BSA knives. The pattern is what is important; if all the knives are the same it makes teach go ever-so-much smoother.

I just checked. The only "official" scout knives in the current collection are two Camillus 3-blade Cub Scout knives--and I have to replace the handles on them, so I guess they will no longer be "official!"

Thanks,
Jim
