Corliss cut co, germany?

Post by muskrat man »

Hey fellas, I picked this one up today at a farmers market, along with a couple others that were in need of some TLC. It has real pearl, but it is cracked on both sides dead center, so I thought maybe a strip of silver inlaid in there would look nice. I couldn't make the name out as I had forgotten my glass, I knew it was stamped on both blades, had half stops, real pearl and was at an irresistable price, so I bought it. I got it home and looked it over better, the tang stamps read Corliss Cut Co GERMANY. Before I went to work on this thing, I wanted to see what you fellows could tell me about it, if it is worth anything in it's current condition, if not I'll proceed with my project, if so, I'll just leave it be.
Any input is greatly apprciated

Not much out there on this brand...import brand (obviously)...steel pins in the "German silver" bolsters...written information says circa 1900-1910. The imports from that time period don't seem to have near the following with collectors, that the older U.S. made knives have...JMO.

Still, kind of a cool old knife.
