Here is a Jacknife, made for a company in my old home town of Buffalo, NY.
I have been searching for some explanation of the marking, and finally located a reference with the help of the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society.
July 12th, 1916, a monthly publication, "The Fatherland" printed a want ad for the Buffalo Cutlery Co, offering sharpening services, and sounding like a retail store.
I've included comparison pics with a similar pattern Schrade Cut Co, to illustrate the likelihood of the subcontractor being Schrade. Note the curved stamps and congruent handle pins as well as other features.
Any other information would be of great help in this lonely quest for Buffalo cutlery history!
